Our approach couples physical “city lab” experiences with persistent digital environments so that comparative learning, peer review, and project delivery continue before, during, and after convenings.
Hybrid hubs and city labs. Pop-up studios and hosted residencies within partner institutions, municipalities, and universities anchor collaborative work in real places. Site visits, walk-through audits, and co-design sessions are paired with structured documentation so that evidence gathered on the ground feeds directly into guidance notes, decision memos, and implementation playbooks.
Persistent digital workspaces. Always-on collaboration rooms support document co-authoring, issue tracking, and peer clinics, with repositories for templates, protocols, KPIs, and case libraries. Time-zone-aware scheduling, low-bandwidth modes, and (where feasible) multilingual facilitation widen participation and keep diverse voices in the loop between major events.
Interoperable “data rooms” and toolchains. Standards-based exchanges enable teams to share maps, models, and indicators responsibly—from spatial analytics and digital twins to monitoring dashboards—while preserving provenance, version control, and permissions. Clear governance (privacy, KYC/GDPR compliance, and data-ethics guidelines) safeguards sensitive information and builds trust among partners.
This real-virtual continuum is designed for delivery. Rapid-response task forces can assemble within hours to support a city request; cross-border teams can run design sprints, scenario tests, or policy clinics entirely online; and fellows can plug into active projects via structured briefs and mentorship. All activity is grounded in a professional code of conduct that promotes respectful, evidence-based debate and diligent attribution, turning the network’s diversity into a shared asset rather than a coordination burden.
