What Drives Us
IUPF believes cities thrive when evidence, ethics, and collaboration meet practice.
We unite professionals across planning, design, engineering, ecology, health, finance, law, data, and community development to turn comparative knowledge into implementable action. We prioritize transparent methods and attribution, cultural respect, and measurable results aligned with inclusion, climate resilience, and stewardship of land, water, and biodiversity. We welcome multidisciplinary debate that is respectful and evidence-based. We build capability through capacity building, technical assistance, and the Young Urban Futures Program (UFP). Partnering with public, academic, civic, and private actors, we move from aspiration to implementation—linking global insight with local specificity everywhere.
Our Topics

Our Values
Integrity, inclusion, and evidence. Respectful debate, transparent authorship, ethical data, accountability; equitable participation across regions and career stages; learning-by-doing that strengthens institutions and shares credit.
Lets Make Better Cities
“Better” means safer, healthier, greener, and more opportunity-rich for all. We align multidisciplinary expertise with real briefs, co-produce feasible options, and document what works—and what doesn’t—so others can improve it. Join us to translate ideas into delivery: measurable change in streets, services, landscapes, and governance that endures.
